Your adventure starts here!

A day with Bear Naked Adventures is a day that you won’t forget. You will start in Oldtown, ID on the East side of the beautiful Pend Oreille River. Once you launch into the river, you will have the chance to see wildlife such as Bald Eagles, Moose, Canadian Geese, Whitetail Deer, and even Cranes. Because you are on kayaks, you will have access to areas that motorized watercraft cannot. You will also have access to sandy beaches and islands.

Your Equipment

Tandem Kayaks

Picture
Here at Bear Naked Adventures, we use Wilderness Systems sit-on top kayaks, as they are both very easy to handle and stable. We carry both tandem (or two person) and single sit on top kayaks. The Tarpon 130  is the tandem kayak is shown to the right. It sits two people very comfortably, with room for a child or dog.  There are two dry hatches located just in front of the seat for easy access while on the water. You will also notice that there are two strap down compartments in the front and back that are a perfect size for your backpack or small lunch cooler.

Paddles

Picture
At Bear Naked Adventures, you can be assured that you are using the best equipment available when you see the NRS logo on our paddles and life jackets. NRS is the preferred brand for whitewater rafting, water rescue operations, and many other water sports. Our paddles are specifically designed to promote proper paddling form for beginners, which eliminates unnecessary soreness. They are also very wide and durable, making for a perfect cut through the water, every time.

Single Kayaks

Picture
The Tarpon 100 is the single person kayak that we carry in our fleet. It has the patented Phase 3 seating system that is almost completely customizable to the paddler. The Tarpon 100 also has adjustable foot pegs and side pockets to hold small items such as cell phones, sunblock, or sunglasses. This kayak also offers the “turn and open” Orbix dry hatches that make it easier than ever to access your gear.

Life Jackets

Picture
Our life jackets, also from NRS, are the Clearwater Mesh back. These lifejackets have almost no material under the arm, preventing underarm chafing, which can ruin a great day on the water. These life jackets are also designed for comfort as well. All of the flotation material is located on your shoulder-blades, which allows the wearer to lounge back into their kayak and enjoy the trip.
