The Selkirk Loop: Bear Naked Adventures is proud to be a part of the International Selkirk Loop. The International Selkirk Loop is the only international loop in North America. "The Selkirk Loop should be on every traveler's bucket list," says RV America Magazine. To find out more about the International Selkirk Loop, you can visit their website at www.selkirkloop.org or click on the Selkirk Loop logo
POMDO: The Pend Oreille Microenterprise Development Organization was designed to provide local high school students with an experiential learning opportunity. Ran by Barbara Smith and Phil Gordon, the two acted as advisors and role models to the high school founders. They allowed the student founders to become immersed in the process of starting a business, while still overseeing the overall process and giving advice and guidance when needed. Bear Naked Adventures is POMDO’s first micro-enterprise venture. To find out more about POMDO and their mission, visit their website at www.pomdo.org or click on their logo.
Rotary Club: The Newport-Oldtown Rotary Club has been vital in the start up of Bear Naked Adventures. They have provided space for the Bear Naked Adventures kiosk on their property as well as provided a power source at a low cost. Without Rotary's cooperation and help, Bear Naked Adventures would not be where it is today. To find out more about Rotary Club, their mission, and even how to join, visit their website at www.rotary.org or click on their logo.
The Water Trail:Bear Naked Adventures is extremely excited about the water trail on the Pend Oreille River. The Water Trail Project, a true collaboration between PORTA (the Pend Oreille River Tourism Alliance), WSU Extension Office, the Kalispel Tribe, Pend Oreille County and the National Park Service, will increase the accessibility and enjoyment of 70 miles of the Pend Oreille River, by facilitating small boat (such as kayak) access, improving public access points and encouraging the development of related amenities and resources. To learn more about the water trail and explore a map of the river, click on the Pend Oreille Water Trail logo.
The NHHS Golf Tournament:
Jared Barranco (left) and Madelaine Merrill (right) both attended the Newport Hospital and Health Service’s first annual Golf Tournament representing Bear Naked Adventures. They ran a “chipping” competition where participants attempted to chip their ball into the kayak. All proceeds from the NHHS Golf Tournament and the Bear Naked Adventures competition went toward the purchase of a digital mammogram machine.
